Luncheon Benefiting Local Charities To Be Held October 17, 2017

DALLAS – May 8, 2017 – Esteemed interior designer Mark D. Sikes will be the featured speaker for the 2017 Kappa Tablescapes luncheon, presented by the Dallas Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma and sponsored by Central Market. The annual two-day fundraising event will be held October 16 and 17 at Dallas Country Club.

“Kappa Tablescapes is so excited to announce Mark D. Sikes as our 2017 luncheon speaker,” states Kappa Tablescapes co-chair Beth Dike. “From his work designing the sets of Nancy Meyers’ movies to Reese Witherspoon’s Draper James boutiques to his fashion line, MDS Stripes, we are thrilled to bring one of the design world’s biggest stars back to Texas.”

Sikes is known for creating beautiful and timeless interiors that embody an indoor/outdoor lifestyle.  Mark has a talent for mixing American and European, traditional and modern, and new and old sensibilities.  He has created celebrated rooms for the Kips Bay Show House in New York, the Grand Garden Halls at Greystone in Beverly Hills and the Southern Living Show House in Birmingham.  His first book, Beautiful: All-American Decorating and Timeless Style, was released in 2016 and quickly made the New York Times Best Sellers list.  In addition to his design projects, Mark has furniture, rug and fabric collections with Henredon, Merida and Schumacher.  His work has been featured in Architectural Digest, Veranda and House Beautiful, among other prestigious publications.

“I’ve heard so much about what a wonderful event the Dallas Kappas put on for Tablescapes each year,” added the designer. “When I was in college at Baylor, the Kappas were my best friends, so I also feel like I am going back in time.”

The first opportunity to view the designers’ tables is Monday, October 16 with the Sneak Peek from 3:00-4:30pm, Candlelight First Hour Viewing from 6:30-9:30pm and Candlelight from 7:30-9:30pm. Tickets for all events, including tables for the luncheon on Tuesday, October 17, are available for purchase at the Kappa Store.
