Bettie’s books Private Newport: at Home and in the Garden and Newport in Flower step inside privately-owned mansions to discover a world of exceptional entertaining, art, architecture, design and flowers. Described as the “Martha Stewart of Newport”, Bettie is also an award-winning floral designer, GCA flower judge, co-chairman of the Newport Flower Show and a seasoned lecturer. She produced the “Entertaining With Style” feature as a contributing editor to Bon Appetit for 11 years. Well-versed in television work, Bettie was the creative producer and host of the series “Presidential Palate: Entertaining at the White House” on PBS and additionally, she has produced and appeared on many morning television programs including Good Morning America. Bettie and her husband Jonathan, a native Newporter, currently reside in Newport.
